Xiaomi, a Beijing-based smartphone distributor, and Uber, an international transportation company that lets an individual book a private car at the press of a button, are teaming up to provide the most convenient way to do gadget shopping.

Uber said that its drivers would deliver the MiNote phablet, Xiaomi's latest gadget, on Monday, a day before the device becomes available on the Xiaomi website. For now, the service will be available in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore, Forbes reported.

How is this going to work? Simple.

A customer will be able to order gadgets by opening the Uber app on their smartphones and tapping the "Xiaomi" icon, Gizmodo learned. They will then see Xiaomi-branded orange Uber cars moving across the phones.

Hit the request and boom! The phone will be delivered to their door steps in a matter of minutes.

The payment will be charged to the credit card tied to the Uber account. Ordering is easy and delivering hassle-free.

Steve Vickers, general manager of Xiaomi in Southeast Asia, described this project as an innovative and convenient way for customers to grab the MiNote while on flash sale.

It may be unclear how many people in Southeast Asia are using Uber, but those who are going to open the app can view the orange Mi icon enticing them to order, according to Recode.

It is also a smart move for marketing for Xiaomi, who's taking the expansion aggressively by launching the brand in Brazil, its first market outside Asia.

Meanwhile, Uber is reportedly in talks with Hugo Boss and Neiman Marcus about the same-day delivery, TechCrunch said in its report. Earlier this year, it has been testing a system by letting the online shoppers get same-day delivery of goods through Uber drivers.

Xiaomi and Uber are excited to take the whole online shopping thing in Southeast Asia to the next level. Both are committed to provide a quality and satisfactory customer experience.
