The latest trailer for the upcoming "James Bond" flick "Spectre" released on July 22 officially shows off Monica Bellucci as the next Bond girl.
The 50-year-old actress joined the cast of the film last year, making her the oldest female love interest of the iconic secret agent character, the Huffington Post reported.
In "Spectre," Bellucci will star as Lucia Sciarra, the widow of a criminal boss that Daniel Craig's Bond character will assassinate in the film.
Before her involvement in the film, the oldest Bond girl featured in the franchise was the 39-year-old Honor Blackman, who played Pussy Galore in "Goldfinger."
Like in the 1964 film, Bellucci will appear alongside a younger co-star, the 47-year-old Craig. When "Goldfinger" was filmed, Blackman was 5 years older than lead actor Sean Connery.
Despite being 3 years older than the main star of "Spectre," Bellucci is confident that fans of the series will appreciate director Sam Mendes' decision of casting her.
"I told Sam he would be a hero among women for casting me in 'Spectre,'" she told ET Online. "For the first time in history, James Bond is going to have a story with a mature woman."
Aside from the Bond girls, another major element that fans anticipate in new James Bond films is its theme music.
In the U.K., film fans have already started placing their bets on who they think will be awarded with the honor of creating the song for the "Spectre" movie.
At William Hill, one of U.K.'s major betting organizations, "Love Me Like You Do" singer Ellie Goulding and breakout star Sam Smith have topped the list of artists submitted by fans.
But, just when the bookies of William Hill were about to close the betting, wagers for the English rock band Radiohead started to pour in. One customer even placed a bet of £15,000 or $23,430 on the band.
"The first gamble of the day was Ellie Goulding and punters were backing her as if she already had the gig but just as we were thinking of pulling the plug we had a load of bets for Radiohead," a William Hill representative told Belfast Telegraph.
"Spectre," the 24th film from the "James Bond" franchise, will hit U.K. theaters on Oct. 26. It will debut in the U.S. on Nov. 6.
