The phenomenon called One Direction caught the world by storm when they started as a group in "The X Factor UK" in 2010. Young teens can't get enough of the boy band that they had created such a wide fanbase not only in the UK but also across the world.

Since the release of their first album, their fans have not stopped supporting and following their social media accounts.

Success though is not always sweet, as early this year, Zayn Malik, one of the members of One Direction, left the group while they were on their On the Road Again tour after a controversial decision. Fans were left dumbstricken as their bubble burst. They never thought that that day would come.

Currently, 1D is left with Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

According to Hollywood Life, Liam Payne, 21, talked to Free Radio last Aug. 3 and revealed that the boys were affected by everything that has materialized over the previous months and would like to have a badly needed break.

No need to fret Directioners! The boys are NOT disbanding.

Liam explained, "You know, I think everyone needs a little bit of a break now, and a sit down and a stop, to kind of take in all the great things that've happened."

"We won't be going anywhere for a while, so I don't know where that's brewed from."

Free Radio's Adam Wilbourn further asked if what would Liam be undertaking while taking some time off. The eldest of the group responded, "There's loads of things. I've been writing a lot on the road at the moment, not for me, just for other people. I've been doing a lot of things, you know trying to get into the producing side of it which is pretty cool."

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that former member Zayn Malik had broken up with Perrie Edwards. It was insisted by the former when he stepped away from the group in March that his then girlfriend was one of the reasons he was leaving One Direction. Fans are awaiting what is to unfold now that he is unattached to the member of Little Mix.

According to OK!, there may be a chance that Zayn Malik will reunite with his former bandmates in 1D. First and foremost, One Directioners would want to see the boys performing together again in full force. Secondly, Zayn has also split from producer Naughty Boy and has not released his own music. Besides #ZaynIsComingBack trended on Twitter recently. Only time will tell though if all of these factors will play a role in Zayn Malik's decision to come back to One Direction.

In the meantime, 1D was in New York, Monday, for a guest performance at Good Morning America, Aug. 4.

As per Billboard, Liam Payne sent out a series of tweets regarding his adventures or misadventures in New York and basing on his Twitter posts, it looked liked being part of the 1D phenomenon isn't a walk in the cloud after all.
