"Crossfire" TV Series — Lionsgate, the entertainment giant behind the highly successful series adaptation of the book "Orange is the New Black" and home of blockbuster movie franchises "Twilight" and "Hunger Games," has secured the rights to Sylvia Day's bestselling romantic novels back in 2013.

The news was announced by President of the Lionsgate Television Group Kevin Beggs with Executive Vice President Chris Selak overseeing the development on behalf of the studio.

Day has previously confirmed the news in her official website sylviaday.com, posting the link to Lionsgate press release.

The 41-year-old novelist also told the Star in a 2014 interview that "Crossfire" TV series is likely to air fall this year or spring of 2016. But given the fact that no updates are still made about the show, a 2016 or 2017 debut is highly anticipated.

No word has really been circulating about the production of the television show, but Day previously said the director is already writing the first script, and she plans to run over the scripts to make sure that they are true to the "Crossfire" world that fans love.

When it comes to who will play the characters of billionaire businessman Gideon Cross and his sexy lady love Eva Tramell, the Japanese-American said her fans are pretty "engaged" with the forthcoming TV project, even creating trailers with the actors they want to play the roles.

But when asked who her personal choice is for the part of hot mess Cross, Day said, "Initially, I thought Henry Cavill, but he's too old for the character now."

Meanwhile, a dream cast for the "Crossfire" TV series was similarly posted by IMDB with Henry Cavill also as the main bet for the sexy billionaire's character and actor Francesco Cure as the runner-up.
