The leaked image of the Nexus device that LG is working on for Google confirmed some of the upcoming handset's features.

The photo posted by blogger Marques Brownlee showed the rear portion of the device. As noted by The Verge, the back of the Nexus handset has a sticker featuring a red circular logo. The site noted that this resembles LG's symbol, which further indicates that the model in the image is LG's upcoming Nexus 5 2015 edition.

Based on the image, the device sports a protruding rear camera with dual LED flash and laser focus. Below it is a fingerprint reader.

According to Forbes, the rear casing of the Nexus device appears to be made from plastic, which suggests that the device might get a budget-friendly price once it is released.

Other rumors indicate that the device will feature a 5.2-inch display and the Snapdragon 808 for its processor.

With its launch expected sometime this year, the upcoming Nexus 5 2015 from LG could emerge as a potential rival for Samsung's Galaxy Note5, which was recently unveiled during the company's Unpacked event.

Since both are based in South Korea, the two firms could go head to head to capture the local market before targeting the international crowd.

For one, both the LG Nexus 5 2015 and the Galaxy Note5 have fingerprint readers. However, being a phablet, Samsung's Galaxy Note5 has a bigger display than the Nexus 5 2015 at 5.7 inches, according to GSM Arena.

Samsung's device also has a more updated processor in the form of the Exynos 7420 chipset. But, since the Nexus 5 2015's Snapdragon 808 is only a rumor, there's still a chance that LG might equip its upcoming devices with version 810.

Also, another major difference between the two handsets is their operating systems. When the Galaxy Note5 was launched, it came with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The LG Nexus 5 2015, on the other hand is expected to run on LG's next-gen firmware, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
