Microsoft is reportedly preparing for the launch of its new flagship devices, Lumia 950 and 950 XL. While tech savvies talk about the rumored specs of the phones that surfaced online, snaps of the upcoming gadgets were leaked on Twitter. It started when Brad Sams (@bdsams), tweeted a photo of the alleged Lumia 950 XL, code named as Cityman.
A well-known leaker, Evan Blass (@evleaks), seemed to notice the photo and responded with a leaked image of Lumia 950, also known as Talkman. He uploaded the snap, captioning it with, ".@bdsams I see your Cityman, and raise you a Talkman (top to bottom)."
It has been nearly two years since Microsoft released a high-end product. The number of years may seem short to other industries but not in mobile industries, considering that Samsung has already released four Galaxy S series, according to Forbes.
It may sound really ordinary for some. However, for many tech enthusiasts, every leaked image — specially if it's coming from a credible source — matters.
Netizens, having divided opinions about the recent leaks of Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, expressed their reactions and concerns on Twitter. Some find them really cool and some are just okay, but there are others who didn't really like them.
"@evleaks @bdsams I can't wait for these!!!" Misconduct Wine Co. (@MisconductWines) noted, expressing excitement.
SIMO (@hasasimo), another Twitter user, wrote, "@evleaks @bdsams Not overly impressed... Microsoft is missing Nokia already."
While Dario D'Acunto (@d_dack92) commented, "@evleaks @bdsams I wash hoping for a better design."
Both have the same cameras at 20MP PureView lenses, RAM and Type-C USB support, according to The Business Insider. The display of Lumia 950 XL is slightly larger at 5.7 inches, compared to Lumia 950's 5.2-inch.
Talkman is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 808, 64-bit Hexa-core, while Cityman is anticipated to use the Snapdragon 810, 64-bit Octa-core, The Verge reported. Lumia 950 and 950 XL will reportedly sport a 3,000 mAh and 3,300 removable battery, respectively.
Microsoft is expected to make an official announcement about the specs and unveil more details of Lumia 950 and 950 XL in the upcoming October event.
