"The Good Wife" Season 7 is premiering this October, and show fans who have been with the series from day one would be delighted to know that Alicia Florrick is living the life she surprisingly wanted all along. Check out the five things that are bound to happen this fall based off of the sneak peek and spoilers about the CBS legal drama.

1. Say "Hello!" to independence

Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick is finally an independent lady, and she's loving every bit and second of it. According to Entertainment Weekly, Alicia will find herself delighting over the fact that she is a changed woman who does not need an office or her husband to make her happy. Plus, she's liking the fact that she does not need to answer to anyone.

2. A new romance

Despite not needing her husband amid her new journey as an independent woman, Alicia Florrick will find herself getting attracted to her newly appointed investigator, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Jason Crouse. Show creator Robert King revealed to TV Line that Alicia will fall in love this season, but things will not flow smoothly for her as she's reluctant to listen to her heart once again.

3. Projecting a "happy family" publicly

Alicia's husband Peter is apparently serious in his vice presidential run, and according to International Business Times this could take a toll on Alicia as well as Peter intends to project a "happy family" with her in front of the people. "One of the things Peter can [use as campaign leverage] is a marriage that went to the brink and now is happy - although reality is different from public perception. Peter knows, without Alicia, he's just a John who overpaid for a hooker," King said of Peter's storyline on "The Good Wife" Season 7.

4. New characters on board

Aside from the appearance of Morgan's Jason Crouse this season, fans can also expect the addition of new faces to the hit CBS fall tv series. Fashion&Style noted that the new cast include Peter Gallagher, Cush Jumbo and Margo Martindale, who is playing Peter's campaign operative Willa Eastman. Then, there's also the return of Michael J. Fox who has been promoted to series regular.

5. More fights and confrontations

The official sneak peek at "The Good Wife" Season 7 features a confrontation between Peter and Eli. The two characters are reportedly going head-to-head this season, but there is still no word on what will cause this. What's certain is that Eli will establish an interesting connection with Peter's national strategist, Willa Eastman. Can fans expect more fights among the characters to happen? Absolutely.

Catch "The Good Wife" Season 7 when it premieres on Oct. 4 on CBS.
