After “Reign” Season 3’s explosive premiere last week, The CW’s period drama is back for more twists that will leave its avid viewers stunned. What is in store for show fans in this Friday’s night’s episode?

"Reign" Season 3 Episode 2 is entitled "Betrothed." While the title of tonight's show suggests that it will be focusing on an arranged marriage, there are spoilers claiming that the show is going to kill a major character this week.

The Tufts Daily has noted that show exec Laurie McCarthy has already confirmed that Toby Regbo's Francis Dauphin is going to die this season, but McCarthy didn't reveal which episode is going to feature the royalty's death.

In a sneak peek at "Reign" Season 3 Episode 2, there are scenes showing Mary getting emotional over Francis' deteriorating condition. At one point, Adelaide Kane's character even gives Francis a hug while he is lying on the bed. From this alone, it could be assumed that the demise of Francis could be happening tonight. But things are not that certain yet.

Another character who could be on the verge of dying is Queen Catherine who will end up in prison when she returns to France this Friday, as per SpoilersGuide. It's good to note that in the same promotional clip, Mary will pay a visit to Catherine and even threatens the latter by saying, "Dispatching you would be for the good of the Rome." Flashes of Catherine hitting the ground with her face could then be seen before the trailer wraps up.

Then, there's Queen Mary, who is also in danger of dying as Elizabeth, who is to deal with political backlash this week, also desires not only to dethrone Mary but also plot against her till the day she dies, noted Design&Trend

Things are certainly not looking great for these three major characters, but only one may be bound to end up lifeless in "Reign" Season 3 Episode 2.

The official synopsis of "Betrothed" reads: "Catherine is imprisoned when she returns to France, and Elizabeth faces a political backlash for sheltering her. Meanwhile, the fate of Scotland's future forces Mary to make some tough choices; and Lola feels torn regarding Narcisse," as per TV Guide

Episode 2 of "Reign" Season 3 is all set to air this Friday night. Don't miss it. Tune in on The CW at 8 p.m. EDT.
