"The Originals" season 3 released a sneak peek video of Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and Marcel, played by Charles Michael Davis, attending an extravagant party hosted by an ancient congregation of vampires. As It turns out, it isn't just an ordinary gathering.

Haley may be wearing a classy gown, and Elijah, a neat suit, but they are not going out on a date, and Marcel is definitely not tagging along as a third wheel.

The eldest of the Mikaelson siblings is going to the gala in the fourth episode of "The Originals" season 3 because he wants to uncover the reason why his old acquaintance Tristan de Martel, a character portrayed by "100 Bloody Acres" actor Oliver Ackland, is in New Orleans, as per Spoilers Guide.

Clearly, Elijah has his own motives for attending the party, so how about Marcel? What is he doing there?

Apparently, he got invited to the prestigious event. Though the second teaser clip from "The Originals" season 3, episode 4 has less dialogues — which according to Carter Matt, is something that is rare for a sneak peek — it gives fans a clear picture that The Strix wants him at the party.

The Strix is reportedly an ancient organization of vampires responsible for wars, assassinations and plagues; hence, Elijah describing them as "dangerous." During the gala, Marcel is approached by a woman named Aya with a proposal.

It is speculated that Marcel is being offered to join the group. It is believed that his hard work in rebuilding the New Orleans from ashes is one of the qualities that makes him a potential recruit.

It is uncommon for a non-recruit to know where to find The Strix, but Elijah knows how to reveal their location points. This leads to fans theorizing that he may be involved in creating the organization.

He also mentions in the video that it wasn't a party, rather, an initiation. That said, will Klaus' former protégé consider the offer?

While Elijah and Hayley gets entangled with this sinister group, Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, is forming an unlikely alliance with Andrew Lees' Lucien Castle.

In episode four of "The Originals" season 3, a substantial component of Lucien's plan went missing, so both have to team up and find it, TV Guide reported.

More revelations are expected to happen when "The Originals" season three's "A Walk on the Wild Side" episode airs tonight, at 9 p.m., on The CW.
