"Z Nation" season 2 will feature George R.R. Martin as a zombie writer in episode 8. However, this isn't the first time that the "Game of Thrones" mastermind appeared in a Syfy TV show, according to the Rolling Stone.

The "Z Nation" season 2 guest star has already made his cameo in the TV movie "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" where he was killed by a shark through decapitation. In the video below, the writer can be seen sitting beside a woman wearing a wedding gown in a movie theater.

In this scene, the "A Song of Ice and Fire" writer is watching the film "Shark Wedding," IGN reported. A three-headed shark can be seen swimming on the screen when suddenly, a live shark gushed out of it and bit his tummy.

As blood oozed from Martin's lips, another shark came and decapitated his head. It was reported that the scene was inspired by the same unfortunate incident that happened with Ned Start in "Game of Thrones" season 1.

Martin was reportedly approached at a Random House party, during the 2014 San Diego Comic Con, by several Sharknado team members. His cameo was kept under the wraps until the show premiered.

In the upcoming episode of "Z Nation" season 2 entitled "The Collector," Martin will play himself — an undead one though. However, unlike those White Walkers beyond the wall, he appears rather tamed.

The introduction of this "Z Nation" season 2 promo video stated, "Winter is Rotting," reminding the fans of the famous quote "Winter is Coming," from HBO's hit show.

"Z Nation" season 2, episode 2's TV Guide synopsis revealed that Murphy, a character played by Keith Allan, was captured by what was described as an "overly enthusiastic" zombie fan, who apparently wanted a new addition to his museum.

Named as "The Collector," Tom Beyer's character took Murphy on a tour inside his zombie museum. Murphy was then introduced to Martin, who now spends time in the celebrity zombie room, Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported.

It turns out Murphy doesn't know the famous author, so he wasn't impressed with the meeting.

How did the writer become like one of those creatures from "The Walking Dead?" According to the report, he was trying to flee Comic-Con after the outbreak when he turned into a zombie.

Watch Martin signing off autographs in the forthcoming "The Collector." "Z Nation" season 2, episode 8 airs tonight at 10 p.m. on Syfy.

If you happen to miss watching it tonight, don't worry. This episode will have a repeat airing on Oct. 31 at 12 a.m. — just in time for Halloween.
