If the case may be working for a multinational firm such as Deloitte or Capgemini or earning a niche in a small boutique firm, I.T consulting takes persistence. Here are a few pointers to cap a desirable position.

Where he suggested that unemployment rate for IT consultant has approximately reached from zero to 3 percent with an increase in wages. John Reed also says, "There's a lot of pent-up demand among consulting firms looking for resources."

The employment though not entirely in IT, for management consultant oversees a projected growth to 19% from 2012 to 2022 according to a summary by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The salary in IT looks even promising, where senior- level technologists for director level can earn an average of $147,000 and for VP-level titles $151,000 according to a recent IT salary survey by Computerworld.

IT consultants who'd already have a long time experience could admit that there some downsides. Whether it be balancing work and life, the long hours and position to be at the front line to solve a company's problem.

But at the same time, articulation and the ability to listen and work for themselves or in a collaboration, well aware in the trade of business and technology, then IT consultant could be a promising job.

Senior manager and technology recruiting leader for Deloitte, Kay Meyer says, "If people are working in a corporate IT environment, they're working with the same system every day," on the flip side Meyer assures that there are constant changes in projects since he's been recruiting for the firm from the year 2000.

Enterprises constantly count on consulting companies to bring to the table its advanced technology. Particularly IT consultant are the ones that follow up upcoming tech.

In a job point of view, IT consulting in the future could lead opportunities anywhere. Reed says, "When you work for an IT consulting firm, you get to see a lot of environments and industries. You see what works, and you see what companies struggle with."
