The "Deadpool 2" release date is said to be slated for next year.
According to YHM, the "Deadpool 2" release date may be slated for 2017. The publication noted that the original film's success may have paved the way for a sequel on the Merc with a Mouth's story.
In another report, it was revealed that one of the original movie's post-credits scenes revealed more information about "Deadpool 2." The anti-hero talked about how Cable may show up in the sequel and even suggested actors like Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, and Keira Knightley to portray the character.
Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed Deadpool, has shared his thoughts on an "X-Force" movie.
"There's so much material to mine in just the 'X-Men' universe ... In the future, if we're doing a bunch more 'Deadpool' movies, we're really going to explore the 'X-Men' a lot," he said in an interview with Filmstarts, via Collider.
"We'll see. And maybe 'X-Force' - 'X-Force' is my priority. I really want to get that in."
Director Tim Miller has previously admitted that Cable would definitely be in "Deadpool 2." "There aren't really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable," the director told Empire. "If we don't put Cable in 'Deadpool 2' I think we'll be run out of town on a rail."
Meanwhile, "Deadpool" screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick discussed the movie's success as well as the possibility of a sequel in an interview with Indie Wire.
"Yeah, we're on that path," Wernick said about Cable's appearance in "Deadpool 2." "We teased him in the coda, we're sticking to those plans and are having a great time writing."
Reese added that villains Garrison Kane, Sluggo and Wire may not be included in the "Deadpool" movie sequel. The screenwriter did hint at the possibility of them being featured in "future go-rounds."
The Hollywood Reporter noted that "Deadpool 2" has already been given the green light by Fox.
