"Deadpool 2" may have taken over the "Gambit" movie's spot in Fox's release schedule.

According to Collider, the studio announced that the "Gambit" movie has been pulled out from their 2016 release schedule. Two unnamed Marvel films are taking over its place.

The "Gambit" movie release date was initially planned for Oct. 7. There have been no official announcements on the new release date for the film.

Fox has slated two new Marvel projects for Oct. 6, 2017 and Jan. 12, 2018. The first film will go face-to-face against Andy Serkis' "The Jungle Book: Origins," while the second release date will coincide with the sequel to Denis Villeneuve's "Blade Runner."

The publication noted that Fox may have moved the "Gambit" movie's release date to give director Doug Liman and Channing Tatum, who will portray the titular character, breathing time.

The actor will be working on an R-rated musical comedy with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Tatum will also reprise his role as Jenko in "23 Jump Street."

Moreover, Collider also speculated that the success of the "Deadpool" movie may have a role with the move.

It is possible that the second date in January will be for the highly-anticipated "X-Force" movie. Ryan Reynolds has previously revealed that he is in favor of creating the film.

"There's so much material to mine in just the 'X-Men' universe ... In the future, if we're doing a bunch more 'Deadpool' movies, we're really going to explore the 'X-Men' a lot," he dmitted in an interview with Filmstarts, via Collider.

"We'll see. And maybe 'X-Force' - 'X-Force' is my priority. I really want to get that in."

Wired reported that one of the dates may be for "Deadpool 2." Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have previously discussed the possibility of a sequel, which may include Cable.

"Yeah, we're on that path," Wernick told Indie Wire about Cable's appearance in "Deadpool 2." "We teased him in the coda, we're sticking to those plans and are having a great time writing.
