It started out as an idealistic and outrageous idea, but it may just turn into reality. The Hollywood Reporter posted that Sony Pictures has turned on the green light for a crossover movie between "Jump Street" and "Men In Black."
According to PopCrush, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will reprie their roles as undercover cops, but instead of diving into the hidden world of drugs, the duo will most likely be battling aliens in the galaxy where the "Men In Black" happens to reside. The man behind "The Muppets," James Bobin, has been eyed to helm the flick and film production is reportedly scheduled to begin this June.
The idea of the crossover happened when during the Sony email leak last year. It just so happened that there were tons of ideas floating around about shared universes, like the successful "Avengers" franchise and the much-awaited DC Universe film between Batman and Superman. Scouring through the studio literature, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller hatched the crossover idea. The two directed and wrote the two "Jump Street" movies. However, the original "Men In Black", Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, will not appear in the movie.
Collider also spilled the details regarding the crossover announcement saying that Sony was excited to combine two of their popular franchises into one comedic yet space-age setting. The report continued that this may be a reboot if the original MIB are not being casted.
Do you think Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill can pull of wearing black suits and sunglasses while battling aliens in outerspace or inside an airport locker?
