‘Winds of Winter’ Spoilers: George R. R. Martin Author Says HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Character’s Brutal Death Was His Intention For Sixth Book

Fans are still waiting in the wind for George R.R. Martin to publish "Winds of Winter." The HBO television version, "Game of Thrones" season 6, is being released ahead of the book which makes everyone think about possible spoilers that the HBO episodes may reveal, or about possible made-up stories to complete the TV season.
Which is exactly what happened when GRRM confirmed a major character death that should have been in the next book. It seems that "Game of Thrones" season 5 has spoiled it, as told by the IBTimes. As shown in the Blu-ray edition commentary of "GOT" season 5, the author revealed that it was always his intention to have Shireen Baratheon, played by the little Kerry Ingram, sacrificed to the Red God. If you've been following the GOT universe, Shireen was burned at the stake - alive - in season 5.
Her death would have helped Stannis Baratheon (played by Stephen Dillane) gain a winning edge but her death didn't turn out to be in his favor. Connecting that episode to the "Song of Ice and Fire" books doesn't seem to make sense, and the fifth book indicates that both Shireen and Stannis are still alive. However, according to Den of Geek, GRRM and the HBO creators did state that the books and the shows won't always jive. The show may not totally spoil "Winds of Winter" but it does indicate some substantial plots.
Multiple sources such as the Amazon Adviser are looking into the "Winds of Winter" release date which is the highly anticipated sixth book of the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series by author George R. R. Martin. But GRRM says, "It will be done when it's done," as explained in his Live Journal Blog.
While GRRM gets busy writing, everyone will just have to wait for the premiere of "Game of Thrones" season 6.
