Twitter declared that it will be shutting down the TweetDeck application of the Windows version. The company mentioned that the effect will take place on April 15, and that it's only possible to use TweetDeck on the web.
The company didn't have any specific reason for terminating TweetDeck that was purchased back in 2011, where a Twitter spokesperson said, "By deprecating the Windows app and activating the TweetDeck cookie, we'll be able to enhance the overall TweetDeck experience. Our main focus for TweetDeck is continuing to build a simpler, more intuitive experience for all Twitter users."
Although the company indicated the number of TweetDeck development it has gained in recent months, seemingly to show the Windows app shutdown wasn't meant to be disregarded entirely for the platform. It managed to ship features that included TweetDeck Teams, group Direct Messages, a new search filter to locate Vines, GIFs and more old contents.
It wasn't directly sure to when app users could expect support on other desktop operating system for their TweetDeck apps. However TweetDeck still supports the Mac version that was last updated in July, and could be found hosted on the Mac App Store.
Twitter has made countless moves to consolidate in the interest of renewing its microblogging service in the past few years, at a point it reached a hype of its trend. But in this day and age, consumers has all of the option around to keep updated with friends, celebrities and news, from the ever sweeping of Facebook to other desirable alternatives which includes Snapchat and Instagram.
Twitter's inconvenience impacted the numbers of its user's growth that grounded to a stop, where the company had a number of preceding quarter with 320 million active users monthly.
To lure more users and enlarge more interest, Twitter is looking to freshen the state of its service from look and functions.
