In education and employment news, communities are often praised for their involvement in their children's education. However, this may not be the case for Lake Shore.

Parents are asking why Lake Shore Career Day hosted Seneca Gaming. Buffalo News explained that the Lake Shore Central School District administrators might not have thought anyone would object to the high school career fair event. But parents soon grew concerned. Their alarm was focused at the school's authorities after their children started talking about blackjack and slot machines. The students also took home programme sheets that were handed out to them during the event. The paper, titled "Seneca Gaming Corp.'s Table Games, Slots Presentation & Career Fair," detailed the events of the day. Starting from the presentation of job types at Seneca Gaming, to exposure to different table games. Students also participated in parlor games. However, Daniel Pacos, Assistant Superintendent Administration and Finance claimed that there was no gambling involved.

Previousy, JobsNHire reported that Seneca Gaming was hosting a job fair for full time and part time workers. But it wasn't the company choice that alarmed parents. It was the wisdom of the school choosing to have just one employer at the job fair.

Seneca Gaming Corp. is responsible for several Indian Gaming casinos and features jobs in the hotel, casino, marketing, resort industries and more.

One concerned mother tells Buffalo News, "Why not have something with 40 different vendors? I don't really have a problem with Seneca Gaming being one amongst many. I did have a problem entertaining students who were four years away from legally entering their facility."

Although Seneca Gaming and the school administration explained that not all jobs are isolated to table games (with diverse jobs from beauticians to culinary workers), that did not calm parents' concerns.
