Every year, some degree of honor is bestowed to a select few for their successes. Men and woman across the world are being named as we speak but this year, a prestigious honor has been bestowed to eight career women who have made significant achievements in their careers and in service to the community.
These women come from different jobs and have diverse backgrounds. These diverse career women range from events planning to education.
To date, more than 280 woman have been inducted to the class. But for this year, on May 11, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati will honor eight women and add them to the 2016 Class of Career Women of Achievement at the "YWCA Salute to Career Women of Achievement Luncheon" at the Duke Energy Convention Center. The luncheon itself is the biggest fundraiser for the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati. The money raised will support the YWCA community programs for more than 35,000 women and families in the area.
The keynote speaker for this year's event will be Zainab Salbi, media commentator, an Iraqui author, a women's rights activist, humanitarian, social entrepreneur and as reported by Cincinnati.
These women represents the 37th class of YWCA's successful achievers. They come from diverse profiles in business, government, construction, finance, health care, education and transportation.
The latest honorees, according to Extra, are: Claudia Abercrumbie, Karen Bowman, Christi H. Cornette, Catherine Laura Mitchell, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco, Sandy Berlin Walker, Moira Weir, and Susan Zaubrecher.
JobsNHire recently wrote about Claudia Abercrumbie and her inspiring story about how she started her career in marketing and eventually ended up making her own dream job that hosts charity events through her own business, The Abercrumbie Group.
