Facebook has been into making a lot of improvements and changes lately. The latest development for the social network is its venture towards e-commerce.

With this enhancement, users of the social network will have the ability to buy tickets without having to go to another website to do and complete the transaction.

Company officials said Tuesday that Facebook will be connecting with ticketing gateways and leaders Ticketmaster and Eventbrite. With these partnership, users can buy tickets for some of the events held in the US that are listed on the networking site.

The social platform has "emerged as a major medium for artists to promote their work and their shows, but users have customarily been obliged to head to other sites to buy tickets," IOL reported. With this development, artists and promotions will be able to do both promoting and selling in one site.

One of the ticket providers, Eventbrite, revealed that they will using a QR code that will let buyers purchase event tickets. The QR code will be integrated within the Facebook mobile app; thus, buyers will no longer need to check out other sites.

"We are committed to innovation that helps organisers sell more tickets. Enabling a seamless purchase experience for consumers in places like Facebook where they are spending significant time is an important step in this mission," Laurent Sellier, Eventbrite's vice president of product, said.

More information and details regarding this major step by Facebook is expected to be discussed during the annual conference of Facebook's developers in San Francisco.

Facebook has announced some of its developments within this week. For instance, it has announced that it was building business "bots" that will provide customer service and are able to interact with real-time costumers through its messaging application, Messenger.

Furthermore, the messaging app also features an ability to let users send and request money with their Facebook friends. This is another development that has been functional for a while but has not gained too much popularity as of present.

Indeed, the social network has become more than just a platform for updating friends and family members who are situated halfway across the globe. It has also become a favorite place to do business marketing and promotions.
