'Pokémon GO' Gameplay To Feature PvP Battles? Game May Secure Series' Future

The "Pokémon GO" gameplay may feature PvP battles. Nintendo and Niantic are still continuing the field tests for their augmented reality game.
The Bitbag reported that Niantic may base the "Pokémon GO" gameplay, in terms of PvP battles, with its other augmented reality game "Ingress." Apparently, players will need to be in the same area to be able to fight each other.
The publication noted that Niantic could choose not to include PvP battles for the game. However, this would no longer be an authentic "Pokémon GO" gameplay experience.
Last March, the "Pokémon GO" beta program was launched in Japan. It was initially available only to local players but eventually reached other countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
"The 'Pokémon GO!' field test program will give users the opportunity to share early feedback and help improve the 'Pokémon GO' experience," Niantic posted on their website. "Please stay tuned for information about expansion of the field test to other markets. Thank you for your interest in 'Pokémon GO!'"
Recently, a "Pokémon GO" gameplay footage has been leaked. The video was taken from the Australian field test of the game.
The clip showed the player selecting and customizing an avatar. Afterwards, the character then took to the streets and captured its first Pokémon.
It was revealed that the "Pokémon GO" gameplay will be different from previous installments of the series. Players will not have a Pokémon buddy this time. They will still need to catch the creatures with Pokéballs, though.
There are speculations that the "Pokémon GO" release date may be scheduled after the results of the field tests are collected. One thing is sure, the mobile game will be available for download on the App Store and Google Play sometime this year.
Meanwhile, according to Movie Pilot, "Pokémon GO" seems "incredibly promising." Compared to "Pokémon Sun and Moon," the augmented reality game may secure the future of the series with its "fresh take on gameplay."
