Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have split up. This comes right after another high-profile couple, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, has also called it quits.

E! News reported that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have broken up. The 21-year-old supermodel and 23-year-old singer have been dating for about seven months.

The reason for the split is still unknown. However, sources revealed that the couple has gone through some rough times in their relationship.

"During her birthday they were fighting," an insider told the publication. Apparently, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have "broken up and got back together a few times."

Another source also admitted the possibility of their reconciliation in the future. "Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow," the source said.

"It's all very unclear what's going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along. Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out. It's more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close."

Another insider told Daily Mail that Gigi Hadid is "really sad about this" and "would like to work it out." "It's more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close," the source added.

On Thursday, the supermodel posted a cryptic Snapchat of a card with the image of a T-shirt red heart on a sleeve. "I know it's obvious, but I love you," it read.

The publication noted that the Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik split has caused the supermodel to turn to her friends. The model shared a photo of her and best pal Kendall Jenner on her Instagram on Thursday.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik started dating a few weeks after the supermodel split with DNCE lead Joe Jonas last Nov. 2015. However, they only made their red carpet debut as a couple last month at the 2016 Met Gala.
