Steven Moffat seems to be getting a little bit experimental for the new series of Doctor Who season 10. "I want it to feel like Episode 1 of a brand new show," says the show runner.

In a snippet from a Doctor Who Magazine, Moffat is planning to change some things significantly for Doctor Who season 10. "I want to leave just as it's all beginning...," added The Moff. What is certain is that The new Doctor Who companion is Pearl Mackie. She will take the role of Bill and will make a debut appearance in the premiere episode of Doctor Who season 10. Matt Lucas' Nardole character will also make an appearance. Moffat himself has written the episode and is quite excited about it.

Peter Capaldi is returning as the Doctor and a clip from Pearl Mackie has revealed that she is on the campus of Cardiff University. But in Doctor Who, the location is called Bristol Campus.

According to reports, the Doctor will meet Mackie's character in that school. In other related news, though season 10 will not premiere until 2017, there is at least one episode that will be featured in 2016. The Doctor Who 2016 Christmas Special is said to feature an already introduced character. It is not yet officially confirmed as to who will partner with the Doctor during the Holiday special. Last year, River Song, the Doctor's wife, was the first Christmas episode that did not feature the Doctor's companion. It was already made clear that Mackie will be introduced in 2017. So who is the mystery "companion" this time? Will River Song make another appearance? Will Jenna Coleman meet up with the Doctor this year after they parted ways? Find out on the upcoming Doctor Who 2016 Christmas Special in the coming holidays.

Doctor Who season 10 will premiere on your screens in the Spring of 2017.
