There are reports suggesting that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 would see the end of the series. Other media outlets claim, however, that there will be a season 11.

Yibada reported that the series will begin production for "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 in August. CBS has scheduled episode 1 to be aired on Sep. 19. The popular comedy TV sitcom will see mainstays Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco reprising their roles as Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter and Penny, respectively.

Last year, showrunner Steve Molaro revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that there is the possibility that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 may be the last for the series. He did admit, though, that he is also unsure of the show's future.

"I can't speak to the future or on behalf of the cast or where we'll be then but it's certainly possible that it could go past that," Molaro said. "The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point."

"The real answer is I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There's still so many episodes to go [sic]. Even if hypothetically season 10 was the end, I wouldn't be focusing on that yet. That seems like something that would be dealt with way down the line."

Cheat Sheet noted that the sitcom could be back after "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 since it still is the most-watched scripted series on TV. It still generates about 20 million viewers or more per episode.

It would definitely make sense for CBS to continue airing the show as it still earns the network a 5.8 rating for the key 18-49 year-old adults demographic. It was previously reported that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 cast does not want the series to end.
