The most anticipated, star-studded award-giving body in the television industry, the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, have come to an end. Now, take a look at the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards list of major winners for each category.

"Game of Thrones," brought home a lot of bacon

For the second year in a row, the famous series "Game of Thrones" from HBO Network received incredible awards, being the most outstanding and most successful fictional series ever nominated. From its last year's 12 recorded wins including the Best Drama, this year it was crowned as the King of Emmy's. It gathered a record-breaking total of 38 wins, which surpassed the sitcom Frasier with a record of 37 awards, known as an outstanding comedy series from 1994 to 1998 Emmy awards.

However, the all-time record holder and longest running TV series, "Saturday Night Live" still managed to continue their title as they hold 45 wins for this year.

Best in Comedy Writing

Another recognizable award was that of Alan Yang's. He was awarded the Best in Comedy Writing for his creation of the American comedy-drama web television series "Master of None". He said that his inspiration came from the Asian-Americans and other ethnic groups in the US. This just shows that Asian stories are starting to gain popularity and becoming noticeable in the eyes of the American people. While the best in comedy show, was won by HBO's "Veep". Nominated 42 times and grab the title as the Best Comedy Show.

Outstanding Limited Series

"The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which was nominated 22 times, won the title of being the Outstanding Limited Series in the Emmy's. This superficial show is a public figure, Mr. Simpson who was convicted and put into prison for not his own doings. Actors Sterling K. Brown, Courtney B. Vance and Sarah Paulson also received individual credits for their performances.

Best Actor & Best Actress in a Drama Series

Rami Malek accepts his award as the Best Lead Actor for "Mr. Robot", with a character acting as a paranoid, socially awkward hacker. The Best Actress award goes to Tatiana Maslany from the science fiction thriller series "Orphan Black".

The show honored the best and outstanding programs in the US covering the periods between June 1, 2015 until May 31, 2016. And it was largely defined by the Emmy's MC, Jimmy Kemmel, who has given the audience a good laugh.
