Apple is reportedly ditching the traditional USB ports from its next-gen MacBook Pro model rumored to be released this year. The recent iPhone event that has passed without a single word about the release if the said device brought MacBook lovers to search for more information on its release.

Macotara, a Japanese rumor site who was among the those who predicted that iPhone 7 will be released without a headphone jack stated that Apple plans to release the MacBook Pro by the end of this month, October 27 to be specific.

Macotara also said that instead of the traditional USB ports, Apple will be using USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 on MacBook Pro. The Magsafe charging connector may not also be seen on this device and charging will have to be done through the USB-C Port and connecting the peripherals through Thunderbolt 3.

Apple makes a USB C-Dock available as the majority of storage and peripherals are still using the traditional USB port, a USB 3.0 adapter will be necessary. This dock provides an HDMI connection, USB 3.0 and USB-C for power. The dock is now available on the market at $79, according to The EnGadget.

The MacBook Pro will reportedly be slimming down featuring flatter keyboard as well as its first ever "Dynamic Function Row." The usual top function row keys will be replaced with application matching dynamic keys with touchscreen OLED strip.

As MacBook Pro release is getting near, a rumor also spreads about the end of the MacBook Air 11-inch model. This allegedly is due to the redundancy brought about by the 12-inch MacBook Air release. This is also to give way to the coming of the 13-inch MacBook Air which may also feature a USB Type-C port. There are no confirmations however if the latest MacBook Air will also be ditching the traditional USB port, The Verge reported.
