With the coming of "Vikings" season 5, all eyes will be on Lagertha. This will be a must-watch season as its midseason finale will play a huge sway on each of the character's fortune.

Going back to "Vikings" season 4 finale, we saw the shield maiden Lagertha, pierced in the chest during the siege on Paris. Fans are astounded and a lot speculations regarding the top actress who played the part of Lagertha, Katheryn Winnick, will not be coming back for "Vikings" season 5.

The people are seriously worried that Lagertha screen time is going to an end since she was never included in the flash-forward scenes and no indications about her current status was received before the release of "Vikings" season 5.

"There was a fan in New York who wrote to me years ago and she said, 'I don't' care how many of the male characters you kill off, but if you do anything to Lagertha, you're in trouble.' So I'm very careful about that warning," said the screenwriter Michael Hirst stating to the alleged death of Lagertha. Saying that we will soon see Lagertha in "Vikings" season 5.

Hirst also stated that Winnick's personality in the historic drama series is much more significant than any other male personalities, excluding Ragnar Lothbrok. He also acknowledged that Winnick's character is, definitely, the 'soul' of the show and will bring a great charm come "Vikings" season 5.

With all things aforementioned, we will truly see that Lagertha had an extremely wonderful journey from season 1 to "Vikings" season 5. She started as a farmer's spouse to being betrayed by her husband, to being with a sadistic partner, to own its power, to lose her power that was taken by her men, solely to regain it back and become one amongst the most spirited shield maidens of Vikings. Vikings" Season 5 is supposed to have 20 episodes, but History Channel is yet to reveal its official release.
