Drums have been one of the most expensive instrument in the market and if you ever had the cash to get your hand in one of those instrument, a place where you can practice peacefully without bothering your neighbours become a problem. Others have resorted to air drumming which is basically drumming in the air while imagining the sounds you make. Thanks to 'Freedrum' air drumming will never be the same.
Freedrum is a new gadget that can make your air drumming produce its corresponding sounds. This is not a rip-off drummers, with just a simple pair of drumsticks together with Freedrum and your handy dandy smartphone you can now produce beat without actually hitting a drum set.
"Freedrum is an exciting product for us because it blends the experience of drumming with the advantages of technology, such as being able to take it anywhere and customizing it the way you want," co-creator Philip Robertson said. "Freedrum gives our users the ability to practice and perform in areas and situations that have not been possible before."
Freedrum is a small piece of equipment that can be fitted to any drumsticks to make music. It is equipped with smart sensors and a gyroscope to determine the corresponding sound that you produce if you strike a real drum set-up. It also comes with a sensor that can be attached to your feet for simulating kick drums.
Freedrum together with an inclusive mobile app for your phone produces areas called 'hit zones' which is based on the placement of a standard drum set. It means that if you tapped the hit zone where the snare drum is usually placed, it will produce the sounds of the snares and so on. With the price amounting to $79 USD plus, you can get your own Freedrum Kit and a process booklet, the shipping will start on August 2017.
