President-elect Donald Trump's campaign for the prevention of the relocation of American manufacturers to other countries such a Mexico has already begun. Among the priorities of Trump are Ford Motor Company and Carrier Corporation.

Once Ford plan of moving its production to Mexico comes into reality, over 3,000 jobs will be lost. Compared to Carrier, the transfer of Ford will have a huge impact in terms of job losses for small car suppliers will also be affected.

According to the report of The Star, once Ford moves to Mexico, employment from automotive suppliers and assembly plants will also be reduced. Assembly plants are dependent on the nearness with the suppliers of engines, tires, headlights, seats and other automotive components. If producers of small cars will decrease, employment in assembly plants will also be in jeopardy.

As to the other automotive companies, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. confirmed its investment worth $300 million in its San Luis de Potosi, Mexico tire plant for the instalment of the company's 6 million units of its yearly capacity. However, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. still has no announcements as to closure of its plant in US.

Aiming to increase 3 million units to Goodyear's annual capacity, the company also has a $210 million investment in its plant located at Pulandian, China. It is believed that the said investment is intended for the hunt for wages lower than those in the United States.

As to the Carrier Air Conditioner Company, a shocking announcement resulting to the frantic reactions of its employees revealed that the company will close two of its factories and Indiana for its plan to move to Mexico.

According to a report by New York Times, Donald Trump talked with the management of Carrier on Thursday to urge the company to stay in the United States instead of transferring over 2,000 of its factory jobs to Monterrey, Mexico.

Trump, in his campaign, had stressed on his goal of limiting the employment from American companies to the American citizens only to assure the development of the economy of the United States. However, as what is visible as of the moment, the chief executive officers of American companies choose to produce jobs on other countries and employ foreign workers.

Having said that, the negotiation prowess of Donald Trump, where he was known for, will surely be tested.
