A source from Hamburg, Germany who also kicked out from the company confirmed that in Facebook, one of the leading social networking sites in the world, is beginning to merge its small and medium sales businesses operated in Europe resulting to a "cut" of over 30 jobs. As of the last weeks of September, Facebook has recorded at total of 15,724 workers currently employed in the company.

According to a report by Tech Crunch, among the 30 employees who are included in the cut are "support" staffs who were previously contracted third persons. The portion of employees lost was actually very small compared to the total number of employees working for Facebook as of this time. Since it was established, Facebook has not practiced a regular reduction of the company's employees all over the world.

Stefanos Loukakos is Facebook's Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) director for Africa, Europe and Middle East, and also based in Dublin where the global headquarters of the social network is located. According to Loukakos, the support of the Facebook company in Germany-based SMB still remains the same. As a matter of fact, during the previous year, Facebook has done efforts to increase the visibility of SMBs in Germany including the "Digital Durchstarten" which is still available in the country come 2017.

Loukakos is the one who decided to do the cuts so that Facebook would be able to merge its SMB operations in lesser locations. Meanwhile, according to the source of TechCrunch, Facebook's satellite office in Hamburg is the one responsible for the advertisements in Instagram and Facebook intended for the markets of Switzerland, Germany and Austria. On the other hand, sales operations in Turkey and Israel will be transferred to the SMB offices located in Lisbon and Dublin.

According to Quartz, while Facebook has been struggling to fix the accusation of circulating hoax and unreal news, 15 to 18 employees included in the Trending Team of Facebook assigned to curate news for the social network  also parted ways from the company. During the second week of November, Jobs & Hire reported that Facebook erroneously posted death notification on the social network's active alive users.
