Fans of the Western adventure "Red Dead Redemption" can now rejoice as the game will be available to PlayStation 4 and PC on December 6, 2016, via the PlayStation Now service. The game's availability will get fans reinvested in the series, in time for "Red Dead Redemption 2's" launch in 2017.

Rockstar Games announced that "Red Dead Redemption" and "Undead Nightmare," the Halloween-themed expansion of the game, will be available to the PlayStation Now service starting December 6. The service, which is available in North America, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Netherlands, allows players and fans to stream classic PlayStation 3 games on PS4 and PC.

According to Venture Beat, this is the first time that fans of "Red Dead Redemption" will be able to play the game on either PS4 or PC. And for PC players, this has been a very long wait.

"Red Dead Redemption" debuted on 2010 to Xbox 360 and PS3 and due to its immersive world and complex characters, it was seen as one of the best open-world games ever made. Some PC players have been asking Rockstar to bring the game to PC, but to no avail.

But come December 6, PC users will now be able to play "Red Dead Redemption." A move that would get fans reinvested in the series, just in time for the launch of the sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2."

With players becoming reinvested in "Red Dead Redemption," preorders for "Red Dead Redemption 2" could possibly increase. This could also result in good launch day sales figures.

Aside from getting players reinvested in the series, the move could also be Rockstar's way of testing the waters. Game Rant mentions in a report last month that making "Red Dead Redemption" available in PC would allow the game developer to see how fans would react to it.

If it was warmly received by fans and players, there's a possibility that Rockstar could use this example to make "Red Dead Redemption 2" available in PC as well. A news that would delight a lot of fans, who already made a petition in Change.org to convince Rockstar to bring the game to PC.
