The "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will soon conquer the New York's Broadway theaters, as per the show's producers. The said play is based on the hit series of author J.K. Rowling's book "Harry Potter" which sold millions of copies throughout the world and ran for ten years in motion pictures.

After a successful debut in London's West End, summer of this year, "Harry Potter and The Cursed Child" will be staged in one of Broadway's biggest theaters in spring of 2018. In fact, producers Sonia Freidman and Colin Callendar are eyeing for the Lyric Theater to house the huge production.

The said theater is among the largest in New York with its seating capacity of 1900. It is also famous for housing big complex prods such as the "Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark" which took place for 4 years (2010-2014) according to Reuters' report.

However, according to Pottermore, the producers are planning to recreate the stage which might reduce the seats into 1500 to put up the dramatic ambiance of the play. Freidman added that the idea of a redesigned New York stage is one big dream to fulfill thus they wanted it to be intimate enough for the story yet big enough to accommodate more people with lower ticket prices.

Christine Jones, the "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" stage designer, hoped to give the Lyric Theater its own identity and distinction from the one they did in London as she described the upcoming project to be "an incredibly unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience." Part of the recreation is the front of the theater which, according to the team, is a huge selling point as it initiates the "Harry Potter" feels among the audience.

Freidman added that writer Jack Thorne, author J.K. Rowling, and director John Tiffany, whom the report called the "three Js" were all happy and excited about the upcoming production. The producer also felt amazing portraying the role of a custodian not only for the play but for the fans as well, saying they felt the need to bring the "Harry Potter And The Curse Child" in New York thus making it as soon as possible.

The "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" book, released alongside the West End play, was also a best-seller with three million copies sold in the US alone in its first month, added Reuters.
