While most fisherman since time immemorial would go fishing using a hook, a rod, some bait, and a fishing line, a group of fishermen, who were boarding the 'Marlin Darlin' near the Dominican Republic coast, simply needed their boat to catch a 530-pound blue marlin.

The marlin jumped out of the waters and into the 62-feet boat on Thursday, leaving the on-board crew shocked, but highly amazed. One of them, Bobby Jacobsen - the owner of the boat - even caught the incident on his camera.

ABC 15 reported earlier that one of the fishermen was nearly impaled by the fish as he and a few others tried to get a hold of the fish and put it back to its natural habitat. However, the 350-pound marlin had died from self-sustained injuries before they could even throw it back into the ocean.

Another report shared that the marlin was right away donated to a group of local fishermen.

No matter how unfortunate the marlin's fate was, many were delighted over this rarity, especially when the video of the fish's epic final moments, which was entitled "350lb Blue Marlin Jumps into cockpit of Marlin Darlin" was uploaded by a Beecher Jacobsen (not confirmed if the account belongs to Bobby) on YouTube.

Marlin fishing has been regarded as the most grueling and tedious sea creature-obtaining endeavors. Many fishermen claimed that catching a blue marlin could go for long hours because of the fish's stubborn behavior and undeniable agility.

Inquistr.com stated in a report, "A 350-pound blue marlin is a pretty big fish but it doesn't even compare to some of the monsters swimming in the ocean."

It can be noted that in 1970, a 1800-pound blue marlin dubbed "Choy's Monster" was captured by Captain Cornelius Choy.
