It's only been weeks since the launch of the Pokémon Sun and Moon game, the 7th instalment of the Pokémon franchise and updates and news keep on rolling out for the game. Players will not run dry with things to do as Pokémon just announced its first in-game event featuring Magearna, the steel and fairy type legendary.

According to Game Rant, Magearna will be available for North American players with a few caveats. First, players must have already finished the game and have become the region's Pokémon champion. Second, Magearna is an event-only Pokémon so players need to make sure that they catch up with the story in time for this event launch because Magearna might not be available for a good long while through any other means.

Magearna' event features the QR scanning mechanic for Pokémon players as reported by Vine Report. Players need to obtain the QR scan code and scan it with their devices after beating the game. From then on, players can have their characters proceed to Antiques of the Ages shop in Hau'oli City to claim Magearna and then save the game for good measure.

If beating the game seems awfully difficult right now in the player's current game state, then players shouldn't worry because a safety measure is in place. The QR code for Magearna will be available indefinitely for players that complete the game in their own pace and time. Magearna will be available as a level 50 Pokémon, much like other promo Pokémon that doesn't start on level 1.

Magearna has the soul-heart ability which raises her special attack every time a Pokémon faints. Pokémon Sun and Moon is now available in 3DS.
