Xiaomi Latest News: MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.12.8 Rolls Out; Which Xiaomi Phones Get The Update?

Xiaomi is again making sure its fans get the latest and greatest with their constant updates. Recently, Xiaomi released the Nougat-based MIUI 8, dubbed as Global Beta ROM 6.12.8, to Mi phone owners all around the world.

The Xiaomi MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM has been previously released in August 2016, as reported by Gadgets 360, and since then the Xiaomi community has been treated with sprinkles of updates here and there. MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.12.8 has been available to Mi 5 earlier this month, but now it is being released to more Mi devices.

The list includes Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, Mi Max, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus and Redmi 3 plus their plentiful variants, as mentioned by Android Community. However, the Mi 5 update has been halted for the meanwhile in order for some Beta Team members to test out the build.

Xiaomi MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.12.8 is heavily inspired by Android 7.0 Nougat. Xiaomi fans will surely enjoy the Nougat features that have been already available to other phone manufacturers for some while.

The new MIUI 8 ROM adds enhancements on the Lockscreen, Status Bar, and Notification Bar. Additionally, some other changes include the new black and white colors for doodles.

Bug fixes have also been attended in the update, so the UI will run smoother with bugs squashed like the Landscape mode issues when third party themes are in use. To get the most up to date version of the MIUI 8, you just have to visit the official thread provided by Xiaomi.
