A lot of vehement mobile gamers has been going wild after Shigeru Miyamoto announced on September 2016 the coming of the first ever Mario game "Super Mario Run" on a mobile platform. However, with the latest news about the game, it seems that the hype is slowly fading away.

Many gamers were disappointed after knowing that the game will be available on App store, not for free but at a staggering $9.99 purchase price. That's a lot of money for a game but "Super Mario" lovers managed to accept it because the price is actually reasonable given that it's a legendary game. However, there is one bigger news for fans that really grinds their gears.

"Super Mario Run" Only Runs Online

Yes, that is true. The players need an Internet connection to play with Mario, which means that they would want to keep close distance with their router if they do not want to get interrupted. And, according to Business Insider, playing at places common for a typical mobile gamer such as the subway is not anymore a dream come true with "Super Mario Run".

Many of its fans do not get the logic of Nintendo. "Pokemon GO" and "Clash of Clans" are two of the biggest mobile games that require Internet connection but players think it's only reasonable as per the gameplay. However, for "Super Mario Run", which is basically a side-scrolling, auto-runner platformer video game which only requires no more than tapping the screen, it really confuses many players why it has to be played online.

Miyamoto Thinks It's The Right Decision

While many of the Mario fans lost their minds after hearing the announcement, the game's creator Shigeru Miyamoto is very much convinced that "Super Mario Run" is a breakthrough for both the company and its players. According to Miyamoto, the game has to be released with a price tag and require an Internet connection to offer it "in a way that the software is secure, and that they [players] are able to play it in a stable environment."

Nintendo has always been protective of its characters and piracy has always been a big deal. Fans may not understand how the game was configured, but surely they will get used to it. Why? Because it's Mario. Everyone loves him.

The game is set to be released in 151 countries on December 15, 2016, on iOS while the Android version is still on the way. Meanwhile, another "Super Mario" game is coming, but this time, it's back on a game console as Nintendo is already making a title release on Xbox. Check out the report by Jobs & Hire.
