French Theater Operator Opens Europe's Largest Public VR Facility In Paris

This period has been slowly transforming into the Virtual Reality age. Immersive games are developed and new technologies made possible the once was believed to be only for the movies. However, having a VR console is too much of a burden to one's pocket and making games is with VR compatibility is equally difficult.
One french cinema operator, mk2 took the opportunity offered by the rising VR technologies and opened a public VR facility to engage the public in the thrilling VR experience. The permanent VR space was made possible through the collaboration of the French investment bank, BNP Paribas and mk2. According to PC Gamer, the facility is a 300 square meter VR heaven located in the heart of Paris' new tech district together with the third largest movie theater of France, mk2 Bibliothèque.
The facility as reported by PDD Net, features different VR platforms like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, MSI, and PlayStation VR hardware. The experience ranges from all sorts of VR games like the mk2 exclusive, "Birdly" by SOMNIACS, which is labeled as 'the best VR flight simulator', "Assassin's Creed Experience VR" by Twentieth Century Fox, "Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One X-Wing VR Mission" by Electronic Arts, "The Climb" by Crytek, "Homebound Joyride" by Quixel, "Introduction to VR" by Felix & Paul Studios, "The Walk" by smartVR Studio, "Eagle Flight" by Ubisoft, "Ocean Descent" by Sony London Studio, "Space Pirate" by I-illusion, "Holofit" by Holodia and many more.
"We are bringing VR to a multiplex-like environment with the opening of the first-ever entertainment venue fully dedicated to upscale VR experiences," stated mk2's general director, Elisha Karmitz. Mk2 is hoping the visitors of the facility will go to them not only to experience VR but also to hang out and have fun.
The facility will sport 12 VR 'pods' for individual experiences as well as a roof-top terrace bar and a full-body VR platforms for hardcore gamers. Visitors can access any platform and any game they like for 20 minutes at the cost of 12 euros while 20 euro tickets will give players a 40 minute game time.
