Elon Musk Wants To Bore Holes And Dig To Avoid Traffic

Elon Musk is seriously considering creating machines that can get through traffic by digging holes. In a series of tweets, Musk expressed his frustration at the traffic conditions and said he will build "The Boring Company" to do this.
According to CNet, it all started at 4:05 in the morning of December 17 when Musk tweeted what sounded like the frustrated musings of someone stuck in traffic, "Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging..." An hour later, he came up with the company name and a tagline for it, "It shall be called 'The Boring Company'...Boring, that's what we do," although he might have to think of another name as there is already a Las Vegas company in that name. After two more hours, Musk confirms the idea by tweeting, "I am actually doing this." At this point, one might start asking, was he stuck in traffic that whole time? He also updated his Twitter profile to include "Tunnels" in the bio.
Tech Crunch opens the idea that Musk may just be trolling and having fun in his tweets. The messages seem to be emanating from the fantasies of a frustrated person. Truly, many have thought of flying or digging their way out traffic jams at one point or another. However, given Musk's reputation, getting this done may not be so fantastic. After all, he had already given the Tesla and the SpaceX programs.
Among Musk's bright ideas is the Hyperloop. According to Market Watch, it is Musk's idea of mass transit using pods in tubes. The idea was presented in August as a white paper, entitle "Hyperloop Alpha," published on the SpaceX website. It's basically a solar-powered engine-less high-speed rail system conveyed in tubes.
Recently, Musk was added to the advisory council of President-elect Donald Trump. However, Musk was a no-show during the summit at the Trump Tower.
