One of the most talked marriage reality TV shows will soon be back on television. Finally, FYI Network gave its green light for the fifth season of “Married At First Sight,” which is set to be back mid-2017. The show is known for getting two strangers legally married upon their first meet up.
FYI’s top-rated show is a social experiment series based on single men and women who are looking for lifetime partners. These individuals agreed to a provocative type of proposal that upon their initial introduction, they will immediately get married.
According to Movie News Guide, the “Married At First Sight” Season 5 will follow the lives of three couples who are based in Chicago. There will be relationship experts who carefully match the couples whom they believe to be compatible.
Spoilers tease that there is a possibility for interracial couples as shared by Jobs & Hire. The showrunners already confirmed that there will be different nationalities in the upcoming season. The participants are from the Philippines, Korea, France, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom. Just the thought that there might be a chance for mixing cultures and a possible language barrier can add an interesting twist to the series.
Dr. Pepper Schwartz, an established professor at the University of Washington, is expected to return as one of the relationship gurus. Other experts who will also be included in the panel are Pastor Calvin Roberson, a minister, and at the same time a couple counselor. The third one is Rachel DeAlto who is known for her motivational and keynote expertise. DeAlto is also an expert in communication and relationship.
Meanwhile, FYI also announced that there will be a 12-episode spin-off series, “Married at First Sight: Second Chances.” The show will feature season 3 participants David Norton and Vanessa Nelson. They will embark again on another journey of finding their lifetime partners.
