The 2017 Golden Globes awards appeared to be a more serious show compared to past years, as actors who won expressed their worries about incoming U.S. President Donald Trump. But the show was also filled with a few light-hearted moments, such as when selected actors revealed their first jobs before making it big in Hollywood.

According to CNBC, Taraji P. Henson said that she was a “singing, dancing waitress on The Spirit of Washington,” which, according to her, is a dinner cruise. Nowadays, the actress slays as the feisty music mogul Cookie in “Empire.” She also starred in last year’s “Hidden Figures” and other hit movies such as 2008’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Meanwhile, “Passengers” star Amy Adams revealed that she was a red liquorice sales person at a rodeo in Utah. She started having small parts in various TV series in 1999, and by 2007, she was the lead in the Disney movie “Enchanted.” Adams also starred as Lois Lane in “Man of Steel” and “Batman vs. Superman,” and the actress is slated to reprise the role in this year’s “Justice League” movie.

Before achieving global fame, Benedict Cumberbatch said that he worked at a perfumery in London. Though he starred in high-profile films such as “Atonement” and “The Other Boleyn Girl,” the actor shot to stardom when he started playing Sherlock Holmes in the BBC’s “Sherlock in 2010. Since then, he has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange and Cumberbatch will be reprising the role in this year’s “Thor: Ragnarok.”

Oscar winner Ben Affleck said that his first job involved tearing tickets at a movie theater. His exposure to cinema may have contributed to his love for the movies, as he has produced, directed, written, and acted in several outstanding films in his career. Affleck is now working on a standalone “Batman” movie as the Caped Crusader, and he will be seen alongside Adams in “Justice League.”

Other actors such as Tyler Perry, Martin Short, Jeremy Renner, Sarah Paulson, and Eddie Redmayne, among others, were also included in the Golden Globes’ first jobs montage. The clip ended with Robert De Niro saying that he was a golf boy before becoming one of the most iconic movie stars in Hollywood.
