If you’ve ever worked in the fast food industry, chances are you have a few stories about rude or bizarre customers that you’ve encountered during your shift. But some McDonald’s employees’ experiences take the cake, and they took to the Internet to tell everyone about the meanest things that customers have ever done to them.

A Reddit thread started by BigMac01 kicked off the confessions, and the Redditor said that he had a customer throw a burger at his face at 1 a.m. because his pickle was not in the center of the bun.

The drive thru is another place where people can get very nasty. Another worker said that while working the drive-thru, a woman threw a large cup of orange drink at him while screaming, “Fire in the hole!”

Meanwhile, Leonessa123 said that a customer flicked his cigarette at her after complaining about the drive thru service. The same thing happened to Redditor Matrael, who revealed that the incident left a scar. Ultimately, the customer was convicted of battery.

It’s not only the crew that gets awful treatment—apparently, managers aren’t safe either. A McDonald’s manager who goes by Montgomrie wrote about the time when he had to deal with a regular customer who likes his coffee prepared in a specific way.

One time, they failed to prepare it to his liking, and when the man asked for the manager, Montgomrie stepped up and asked how he could help. The customer responded by taking the lid off the coffee and throwing the contents at him.

Some customers have also witnessed appalling behavior at McDonald’s, with one saying that his friends decided to “throw some of their garbage on the floor in plain view of the exhausted employees” at about 3 a.m. The commenter, who goes by DukeCanada, threw a fit and berated his friends “for a good 10 minutes” for their inconsiderate behavior.

The infamous Beanie Baby craze also sparked some outrageous behavior at outlets, with a Redditor saying that a woman threw the contents of a Happy Meal at him because she missed one of the series and he couldn’t give her an old one.

A former manager told Delishably that McDonald’s managers can call the police on customers who scream, throw things, or refuse to leave the premises. The employee, who chose to remain anonymous, said that as soon as customers start being rude or calling them names, they “stop caring about your experience.”
