More New Yorkers are going to find themselves landing more quality jobs with NYC Tech Talent Pipeline adding schools and businesses to its programs. As a result of this, more tech jobs will be available to students and graduates.

In a news report by the NYC, it was announced that the Tech Talent Pipeline’s TTP Residency Program will be expanded. The expansion involves including Lehman College and not simply being limited to the founding campus which is at Queens College.

According to NYC, the inclusion of Lehman College means that the program investment gains an increase of more than $1 million. Furthermore, it signifies the firm commitment towards aligning school curriculum with skills that are in demand, which is what the TTP Residency Program seeks to accomplish.

Furthermore, there will be 60 percent more internship opportunities for women who study computer science, reports Engadget. This will be thanks to the cooperation and collaboration between Cornell Tech, CUNY, and New York City firms.

Other expansion efforts include Urban Outfitters, Time Inc., New York Times, and Jet offering technology-related junior level jobs as well as fellowships and internships. Engadget adds that charitable commitments of $675,000 were renewed.

According to its official website, the Tech Talent Pipeline aims towards building solutions by working with the top employers of the city and equipping students with the tools and knowledge to succeed in the jobs of the century. However, the Pipeline is not the only platform to try to create and link education and job opportunities.

Last year, it was reported that businesses can hire Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship students for full employment. Retaining the graduate for more than 6 months would make the firm eligible for getting a grant that ranges from $2,000 to $10,000.

Another program in New Vermont offers students career pathways. An alliance between Vermont Technical College and the Agency of Transportation gives students more access to the possibility of having long lasting careers.
