The actor who will be cast to play Cable in "Deadpool 2" needs to be intimidating, scary, as well as franchisable, says "Deadpool 2" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

In an interview with ComicBook, the two writers spoke about what casting traits they are looking for in an actor who will play Cable in the 2018 "Deadpool 2" film. Rhett Reese said that the actor needs to be able to successfully play Wade Wilson's foil-scary, intimidating, and deadpan.

The person will be working with Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds which means they have to be funny in a serious way too, Reese added. "Physically imposing and able to emote. There's real drama and real stakes. It's a tough one."

In a previous interview, Reese told Coming Soon that Cable's über-masculinity will affect the casting decision as well as the actor's performance. He notes that it will be humorous to see Cable's masculinity opposite Deadpool's femininity.

Wernick also told ComicBook that the Cable actor has to be franchisable or has the ability to carry a movie franchise. This is because "X Force" is going to be in the works and Cable is the head of that team.

The list of potential Cables is short, shared Reese. Wernick said that people are going to go crazy with their casting decision which will be announced very soon.

In case some of you need to brush up on who Cable is, check out the short video below.

According to the video, fans have cast and photoshopped Keira Knightley ("Pirates of the Caribbean," "Pride and Prejudice," "The Imitation Game") as well as Stephen Lang ("The Avatar," "Don't Breathe") to play the mutant Cable. What about you?
