Amy Roloff's cancer awareness programs and numerous projects may have helped people around the country find hope, but the "Little People, Big World" star's own marriage has reportedly crumbled in the middle of the media frenzy.

While most Little People, Big World fans are knowledgeable about Matt and Amy Roloff's cancer awareness and special needs projects, they also often forget that the couple may also be suffering from problems within their own home.

It seems like the problems have become too much for the "Little People, Big World" couple as the two announced their separation after 26 years of marriage.

According to TMZ, Matt and Amy Roloff may have reached a dead end in their marriage and can't stand living with each other anymore.

Sources connected to the reality stars said that Matt and Amy have been living in separate homes since the holidays, with Amy currently staying in her family's main house in Oregon. Matt is currently residing in the guest house.

Although there has been no confirmation that either one of them is currently pursuing a new relationship, perhaps the couple simply wanted to test the waters by living alone and apart from each other.

According to TMZ, however, divorce hasn't been brought up yet by either Matt or Amy.

Some reports say the problem could have stemmed from Matt Roloff's drinking problems, which lead back to his DUI arrest in 2007, but sources close to the couple told TMZ that alcohol wasn't the reason for the split.

"Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation," Matt and Amy Roloff said in a joint statement.
