Amanda Bynes is dead at 28. At least that's what a viral report is claiming right now. The "All That" star allegedly died this week and a Facebook page was created to spread info about her passing. However, it was found out later on that the report was nothing but a death hoax. The actress is well and alive and she has even celebrated her birthday recently.

The report claiming Amanda Bynes' death was from Media Mass, a site notorious for spreading fake news. According to the said site, rumors of Bynes' death gained traction on Saturday after an "R.I.P. Amanda Bynes" Facebook page was created. The page allegedly got nearly one million of likes and numerous comments from fans, echoing their sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the former Nick star.

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (April 05, 2014), our beloved actress Amanda Bynes passed away. Amanda Bynes was born on April 3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page," the description on the "R.I.P. Amanda Bynes" page reads.

Media Mass even claimed that because of the shocking news, many fans immediately expressed their sadness over the death of the talented actress, singer and fashion designer. Several fans also reportedly took it to Twitter to voice out their condolences.

Nevertheless, skeptical fans right away slammed the report as a hoax, knowing that a large amount of fake reports have been emerging lately. A few pointed out that if the report was true, it should have been confirmed by major news networks.

It can be noted that last year in April 2013, a viral hoax also claimed that Amanda Bynes was found dead after committing suicide.

According to TravelersToday, the viral report came from multiple sites. One of the sites was called the Internet Chronicle, which even claimed that Bynes' left a suicide note on Twitter prior to taking her own life. There was even an obituary for Bynes published by Necropedia, a site notorious for generating fake obituaries.

Amanda Bynes has been the subject of online discussions and scrutiny last year after she got involved into a series of scandals which culminated in an involuntary psychiatric hold in August.

The 28-year-old actress, who recently celebrated her birthday on April 3 shared a few images on her Twitter account Saturday that showed off her healthier self, Daily Mail reported.

She even thanked her fans who greeted her on her big day. "Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes," she said.

Amanda Bynes joins a long list of celebs and famous personalities who became victims of viral death hoaxes. Other famous stars who allegedly died online include: Lil Wayne, Will Smith, Blake Lively, Zayn Malik, and Selena Gomez, among others.
