Ukraine Civil War Substantially Drapes On Its Celebration Of Liberation

The ongoing Ukraine Civil war substantially drapes on the nation's celebration of its independence.

The progressively bloody civil war carving up Ukraine was in the thoughts of many on Sunday as the beleaguered nation observed a subdued Liberation Day.

During the ceremony, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko delivered an ardent address which praises the nation's warriors as they continue to fight against foreign aggression and the continuation of the civil war.

As the embattled nation celebrated the mark of their 23rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence, the president said that the day was never been majestic in 23 years and that the people had never celebrated it as sincerely as they use to. The president also honors the guards and the battle primed infantry, preparing to deploy to the front and stood ramrod straight against aggressors in the Ukraine civil war.

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko also stated that Ukraine will never again celebrate the holiday under the military-historic calendar of the neighboring nation and that Ukraine will honor the protectors of their motherland.

Succeeding the speech, a soldierly band led a column of troops, missile launchers and armor through Kiev's Maidan Square in a keen message to Moscow and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Auxiliary east, in the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic, a wholly different scene played out, as pro-Russian protesters marched captured Ukrainian soldiers held at gunpoint through the streets of Donetsk city.

Following the Russian military's seizure of the Crimean Peninsula in March and the wake of a pro-Moscow uprising in the far-east side of the nation, Ukraine has been locked in the bitter civil war for months. Kiev and Washington have indicted the Putin Administration of providing arms and supplies to the rebels, which includes the erudite surface-to-air missile system that have downed Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 in July resulting to 298 deaths.

As the Ukraine civil war continues, the diplomatic crisis deepens and the slim hope of progress towards ending the five months war seems to be impossible and the celebration of the nation's liberation is doomed.
