The "Django Unchained" actress, Danièle Watts was humiliated for simply showing pubic affection by kissing her white boyfriend after the LAPD detained and handcuffed her as the cops mistook her for a prostitute when she refused to show her identification card.

The African-American actress, Danièle Watts, who was best known for her acting performance in "Django Unchained," claimed that she was detained and handcuffed by Los Angeles cops after being mistaken for a prostitute. She posted her ordeal on her Facebook page.

Danièle Watts is currently in an open relationship with chef and white boyfriend Brian James Lucas. However last September 11, 2014, the couple went through an embarrassing incident after someone called 911 on them after being seen kissing in their own car, assuming the mixed race pair were a john and a prostitute. The complaint was of indecent exposure by two individuals in a silver Mercedes.

The critically acclaimed actress, Danièle Watts was handcuffed for not showing her identification card to the police officers who responded. She thought that the authorities had no reason to ask for it, though her boyfriend, Brian James Lucas complied. The incident happened in Studio City, Los Angeles, California. Danièle was reportedly injured on her wrist caused by the handcuffs being too tight. She was also roughly thrown into the back of the LAPD car. She was detained but was released shortly after on the scene. The couple retained a lawyer although no charges have been filed.

Danièle Watts revealed the incident through a post on social media site, Facebook. She wrote, "Today I was handcuffed and detained for showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place." Her boyfriend, Brian James Lucas also posted his sentiments on Facebook saying, "From the questions that he asked me as D was already on her phone with her dad, I could tell that whoever called on us saw a tatted RAWKer white boy and a hot bootie shorted black girl and thought we were a HO and a TRICK." The actress also burst into tears after the LAPD officers handcuffed her. She explained on social media that she cried for a country that calls itself "the land of the free and the home of the brave" and yet detains people for claiming the very right. She also wrote that she remembered the countless times her father came home frustrated or humiliated by the cops when he had done nothing wrong.

It was not the first time that LAPD cops have been red faced in a racial incident. The LAPD said that they were conducting an internal investigation of the incident and to probe whether race played a role for the detention and handcuffing of Danièle Watts.

Danièle Watts and her boyfriend Brian James Lucas were humiliated because of the incident. And it's about time the LAPD redeems its tarnish image concerning racial issues.
