NBA Trade Rumors 2014: Should the Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Dion Waiters to Indiana Pacers for Roy Hibbert?

The Cleveland Cavaliers looked like a team in disarray in their first four games this season, prompting rumors suggesting that the Cavs might make roster changes to balance their roster.

After losing in three of their first four games this season, most fans are wondering if the Cavaliers should pull off a trade involving Dion Waiters to get a legit center and rim protector like Roy Hibbert of the Indiana Pacers.

Waiters averaged 15.9 points last season, but the 22-year-old struggled to find his rhythm in their first four games where he averaged just 7.5 points per game on a measly 32.4 percent shooting from the field.

Waiters is obviously having a difficult time adjusting to his new role - from being one of the main scoring options to becoming the fourth option in offense. After their 19-point loss to the Utah Jazz, Waiters admitted that he is struggling to fit into his new role, such as being a catch-and-shoot guy this season.

"That's not my game," Waiters said on Tuesday via Jason Lloyd of Akron Beacon Journal. "I can do it, but you know what I'm effective at: pick-and-roll and things like that."

Waiters also said before the season that he is not open to coming off the bench. While the former Syracuse standout is now open to becoming the team's sixth man, most analysts are convinced that Waiters is like a time bomb that is waiting to explode anytime, considering the fact that he had troubles with Kyrie Irving last season.

If Waiters fails to fit into what the Cavaliers are trying to do this season, most analysts are convinced that the Cavaliers will eventually trade the former fourth overall pick, especially if Ray Allen decides to sign with the Cavs later in the season.

Previous reports indicated that the Pacers and the Cavaliers discussed a trade that would send Waiters to Indiana along with Brendan Haywood and a first-round pick for Hibbert.

Acquiring Hibbert would give the Cavaliers the rim-protector that they need, while the Pacers will get a proven scorer while waiting for Paul George to return from his injury.

Hibbert has been impressive in their first five games this season as he averaged 12.4 points and 8.8 rebounds to go along with 4.2 blocks per game.
