Keira Knightley Confirmed Pregnant: Will The Actress Be A Stay-At-Home Mom?

Hollywood actress Keira Knightley is indeed pregnant! Her representative recently confirmed the news that the 29-year-old British star is expecting her first child with husband Mercury Prize-winning musician James Righton after weeks of pregnancy rumors.

Keira Knightley and her Klaxon front man husband have been together since early 2011. Yahoo! News UK reported that the lovely couple tied the knot last year in a ceremony in the South of France. The news that Knightley is pregnant was confirmed by her rep on Friday morning.

Though Knightley's pregnancy was confirmed through Elle UK, the actress' rep did not offer any further details at this time. Meanwhile on Sunday, the British star made a high-profile red carpet appearance at the Moet British Independent Film Awards.

At the event, Keira Knightley showed no visible indications that she is pregnant when she was clad in a Rocha embroidered ivory-fur trimmed dress. According to The Daily Mail, she allegedly steered clear from any alcoholic drinks throughout the night, where she represented her "The Imitation Game" costar Benedict Cumberbatch with the Variety Award together with Mark Strong.

British actress Keira Knightley has been a target of pregnancy speculation for a while, E! News reported. However, with her slender figure, it's been quite hard to determine any signs for a baby bump. Her confirmed pregnancy news came after Knightley was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at both the upcoming 2015 Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globe Awards for her "The Imitation Game" role.

Having bagged those set of award nominations, Knightley appeared to be on the path of being a working mom. In her 2012 interview with Vogue, she told the magazine that stay-at-home thing was definitely not for her.

"I remember doing interviews, and people would ask, as if it was a joke, 'So you mean you are a feminist?'" she said. "As though feminism couldn't be discussed unless we were making fun of it. I don't want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at."

Keira Knightley, who is now pregnant, told Glamour last summer on a same subject-matter discussion.

"I think it's about equality," Knightley explained. "I was talking to a male friend about this the other day who's just had a baby girl, and because he's the one staying home to look after her, he went to this mother-and-baby class, and all the mothers were going, 'Oh, is the baby having a day with Dad?' I mean, not to have the freedom to do that [if you are male] is as bad as saying it's a woman's duty to look after the children."

Keira Knightley is not just expecting a magnanimous award season this 2015 but a baby. According to Time, the British star is about three months pregnant. Just a day after she grabbed two big acting nominations, her pregnancy was confirmed and was first reported by Page Six.
