Angelina Jolie-Amy Pascal Confrontation: A Hostile Picture That Speaks Volumes Of A High-Level Tension Encounter

On Wednesday, actress Angelina Jolie and Sony Pictures executive Amy Pascal had an awkward run-in at the Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Power 100 Breakfast. The encounter happened amidst the controversies surrounding the Sony email leak scandal, which Jolie was embarrassingly dissed.

Angelina Jolie and Amy Pascal's meeting came two days after the Sony email hack has exposed an exchange between Pascal and Hollywood producer Scott Rudin where Jolie was called a "minimally talented spoiled brat." In a photo that widely circulated online, Yahoo! Celebrity reported a stone-faced and stiff Angie scowling on Pascal as she tried to hug her.

The Angelina Jolie and Amy Pascal encounter is ironically awkward. And the hostile moment was captured in a single but very expressive picture that has already added to the chronicles of the pop culture recoil. The Daily Mail said the photo showed Pascal to seemingly grovel while Jolie looked enraged.

The alleged hostility between Pascal and Jolie was caused by the humiliating email leak that has snowed under Sony for the last two weeks. In one of the conversations, the "Unbroken" director was called as a "minimally talented spoiled brat."

Though Amy Pascal has issued a public apology, Hollywood A-list actress Angelina Jolie seemed to be not over it.

"The content of my emails were insensitive and inappropriate but are not an accurate reflection of who I am," Pascal stated. "Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended."

In other leaked email exchanges, The Huffington Post said Pascal and Rudin also mocked US President Barack Obama and the types of movies he prefers. Rudin later issued an apology for the comments.

"Private emails between friends and colleagues written in haste and without much thought or sensitivity, even when the content of them is meant to be in jest, can result in offense where none was intended," Rudin said. "I made a series of remarks that were meant only to be funny, but in the cold light of day, they are in fact thoughtless and insensitive - and not funny at all. To anybody I've offended, I'm profoundly and deeply sorry, and I regret and apologize for any injury they might have caused."

The Angelina Jolie-Amy Pascal encounter photo really spoke volumes and suggested high-level tensions. Jolie is one of the latest victims in the email train that the Sony Pictures hackers published online.
