The show that puts every other family series to shame is back. Before last season wrapped up, avid viewers saw the rather disturbing twist in Ian's storyline when Fiona came to an awful realisation that he may be suffering from bipolar disorder. However, instead of getting proper treatment, Ian's lover Mickey is in total denial and insisted that they should do everything to save Mickey from his depression without having to send him to a treatment facility. So will they succeed in this one? According to Entertainment Weekly, which got the latest scoop from the people behind the show, Ian will start off looking perfectly good at the start of the show's fifth run, but it will just be the "calm before the storm." Does this mean his relationship with Mickey will be affected? Sadly the answer is very likely, especially when Ian finds out that there's infidelity going on between him and Mickey. Another interesting storyline that will surely give us the laughs and tears this season is Fiona's. It can be noted that Emmy Rossum's character is now due to enter Narcotics Anonymous, but could she be staying there for long? "She still doesn't believe that she has a problem, and I'm not actually sure if she is a drug addict," Rossum dished to The Hollywood Reporter recently before adding, "I think she's addicted to situations and people and energies that aren't necessarily going to put her in the position to win, and I think she's more comfortable in chaos than she is in flat-lining, normal, happy situations."
Of course it's not going to be Shameless without William H. Macy's Frank Gallagher. Macy has teased on what's to come to his character and to Frank's dysfunctional family this season. "I [have] a great storyline this year. It was pretty stunning," Macy said. "I had a great acting turn. My character's been drunk for four years, and [this] season, he's pretty clear-eyed because he can't drink because of his liver, and it's a whole different ball game when it comes to acting and I loved it." Then, Macy dishes something meaningful about the show per Variety's report. "The one thing you'll know about 'Shameless,' it's just like Chicago weather.
